Two possible things, either your build created a libodbc.so.1 in the .a, 
in which case its a simple matter of removing the .so.1 with ar, rename 
to .so and add back into the .a.

Or the lib contains a 32 bit .so and SAS is looking for a 64 bit one (or 
the other way around).
