Thank you Martin for the reply. I just realized that I don’t have man pages setup for isql. I’ve got to figure that out next.

Is there a way in ISQL to not display the blocks around the results returned from the select and the rows selected?

SQLRowCount returns 1

I would like to just have returned this: 4

Thanks.

The closest I know is something like -x0x09 - see man isql.

SQL> select * from mje;
1    fred
1    fred
1    fred

However, isql is a very simple program and should be relatively easy to change the output to whatever you want (if you know C). If you don't and -x doesn't quite get you there a simple awk/perl filter could easily remove whatever is left you don't need.
