What isn't ldd or the lib, if the libs not, then its a problem with the 
lib. Try

file /usr/lib/unixODBC/libOdbcJdbc.so

And see what you have actually got.

Should be part of unixODBC.

It may behove of me to point out that there are other firebird drivers 
available...
