Try this ODBC.INI:

[NSSQL]

Description     = NS-DeptSQL

Driver          = TDS

Trace           = Yes

TraceFile       = /tmp/odbc.trace

Database        = NSDEPT-Access

Server          = 10.49.25.24

Port            = 1433

TDS_Version = 8.0

And forget about freetds.conf.

Subject: [unixODBC-support] [S1000][unixODBC][FreeTDS][SQL Server]Unable
toconnect to data source

I am having a problem getting unixODBC/FreeTDS to work.. I am getting
the error:

[S1000][unixODBC][FreeTDS][SQL Server]Unable to connect to data source.

Based on all the messages I've reviewed that google came up with, I
believe I have everything configured correctly, but I may have missed
something.

Here's the contents of my config files:

Odbc.ini:

[NSSQL]

Description     = NS-DeptSQL

Driver          = TDS

Trace           = Yes

TraceFile       = /tmp/odbc.trace

Database        = NSDEPT-Access

Server          = NSSQL

Port            = 1433

Odbvcinst.ini:

[TDS]

Description = FreeTDS Driver for Linux & MSSQL

Driver          = /usr/local/freetds/lib/libtdsodbc.so

Setup           = /usr/local/freetds/lib/libtdsS.so

FileUsage       = 1

CPTimeout       =

CPReuse         =

UsageCount      = 1

[ODBC]

Trace                   = Yes

TraceFile               = /tmp/odbcinst_tr

ForceTrace              = Yes

Freetds.conf:

[NSSQL]

host = 10.49.25.24

port = 1433

tds version = 8.0

The trace file shows this:

[ODBC][21313][__handles.c][444]

                Exit:[SQL_SUCCESS]

                        Environment = 0x8050388

                        User Name = [NOCReader][length = 9 (SQL_NTS)]

                        Authentication = [*********][length = 9

                        Message Text = [[unixODBC][FreeTDS][SQL

[ODBC][21313][SQLError.c][461]

                Exit:[SQL_NO_DATA]D

When I execute this:

isql -v NSSQL USER PASSWORD

Any ideas as to what's going on here?
