Were you able to reproduce the problem?  Attached is the log file from
my build.  Maybe that will give you some insight.  Am I missing

I will try and reproduce, Can you try from a fresh unpack of the tree, 
and move the 64bit libs out of the way.

Are you specifying -m32 with CFLAGS?
